'Pay it Foodward' winner announced

DURHAM (WTVD) -- ABC11 Together is proud to announce the winner of our "Pay it Foodward" selfless selfie photo contest.

Sanderson High School senior Lauren Edwards was the winner. She stopped by our Durham studio Monday to pick up her $1,000 in gift cards for free groceries.

$500 will go toward filling her refrigerator and pantry. The other half will help feed a needy family this holiday season.

ABC11 Together hit a new goal this year collecting 6.2 million pounds of food in our Heart of Carolina Food Drive.
