Football star amazes teen with growth disorder with surprise prom invitation
Autumn Pollard - who has Noonan syndrome - a genetic disorder that affects her growth and her heart - is asked to her high school prom by a football player.

CORNING, AR -- Autumn Pollard, 19, is a high school student with Noonan syndrome -- a genetic disorder that affects her growth and her heart. More importantly, she's the type of person that has no problem bringing smiles to her classmates' faces.

So when she was asked yet again to dance up front with the school mascot at a pep rally, she was happy to get groovy on the dance floor. Little did she know that moments later she would be the one smiling.

She told ABC News that she was unaware that her high school hosted an annual prom until she was invited in front of the entire school.

Each year, Autumn dances at her pep rally with the school mascot. This time, the mascot turned her around to find Cope Robinson, a star football player at Corning and a friend of Autumn's. Robinson and Pollard know each other from church, too, he told KAIT.

In a very touching prom-posal, Cope was standing next to signs spelling out the word "prom" with a question mark at the end, holding flowers. With the whole school chanting her name, Autumn was turned around the see her friend.

"He asked me to prom," Autumn said. "I like his hair. He's nice."

Both teens said they will never forget the sweet moment in front of the school on the basketball court. They also said they're looking forward to April 18, when they'll make more memories, this time on the dance floor.
