It's a spooky scene to witness: a great white shark, something usually portrayed as terrifying, completely helpless.

This video, taken in Australia, shows the 13-foot shark behaving strangely. It swims into very shallow water--so shallow that it thrashes around in the sand. The beach-goers are baffled, wondering what could be wrong with it. Near the end of the video, they realize there appears to be something lodged inside the shark, and one onlooker says, "It's like it's trying to get it out."

They were probably right. The shark washed ashore, dead, two days later. According to a government investigation, the shark was choking on a large sea lion.
