SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- A San Francisco man is just one race away from an incredible accomplishment. Tim Durbin is the only American competing in the World Marathon Challenge.

It started last Saturday and ends in Sydney, Australia on Friday. So far, the 31-year-old has run six marathons, each 26.2 miles. He's run through snow, rain and jetlag in Antarctica, Chile, Miami, Madrid, Morocco and Dubai.

Sports anchor Mike Shumann from ABC7 in San Francisco caught up with Durbin last week. The marathoner said he has his reasons for doing this.
