University of South Carolina Coach Steve Spurrier is speaking out against the prices for Thursday's season opener against UNC.

During his call in show last week Spurrier called the ticket prices "Super Bowl prices."

Thursday night's game is being held at Charlotte's Bank of America Stadium and prices range from $70 for upper deck seats to $258 for club level.

Spurrier said the ticket issued to his wife was valued at $257.

"I think that's a little too steep or else we could fill the ballpark," he said.

Officials expect to sell 50,000 to 55,000 tickets, which is around 20,000 below capacity.

The Tar Heels take on the Gamecocks at 6 p.m. Thursday on ESPN.
