2 injured in I-95 crash near Selma

SELMA, N.C. (WTVD) -- All lanes of Interstate 95 were closed for about an hour in Johnston County near Selma due to a serious accident Thursday afternoon.

It happened around 2:30 p.m. near exit 95.

The Highway Patrol said the driver of an SUV lost control and hit a tree on the driver's side of the vehicle.

The driver - 73-year-old Frank Long Jr., of Hackensack, NJ, was taken to WakeMed by helicopter where he was listed in critical condition.

His wife - 70-year-old Mary Long - was taken to WakeMed by ambulance where she was listed as stable.

Troopers said charges are pending.
