Crash causes delays on I-40 near Durham

DURHAM, North Carolina (WTVD) -- A crash has affected traffic on I-40 East near Durham at Exit 270 US-501 on Monday evening.

The road was closed 2 miles East of Exit 270 (US-15/501) for hours. The lanes reopened about 12:10 a.m.

A Durham Police spokesperson said multiple vehicles were involved in the crash. There did not appear to be any serious injuries, however.

The road was expected to reopen sometime about 1 a.m., NC DOT officials estimated. It was cleared shortly after midnight.
