MECKLENBERG COUNTY, Va. (WTVD) -- A crash involving a truck carrying a load of PVC pipes shut down the northbound lanes of Interstate 85 near the North Carolina/Virginia border early Tuesday.

It happened around 3:20 a.m. in Mecklenberg County at mile marker 12.

Investigators said two semi-trucks were involved. The one carrying pipes overturned - causing it to lose its load.

Work crews came out and picked up the pipes. All northbound lanes of I-85 at mile marker 12 were re-opened by 8:25 am.
