Debris on I-40 causes slowdown, multiple flat tires

DURHAM, North Carolina (WTVD) -- A piece of metal debris caused a traffic slowdown on I-40 West in south Durham. Multiple cars had to pull over due to flat tires.

Authorities say this happened around 7 a.m. Thursday. They say at least eight drivers had to deal with a flat tire during their morning commute.

Traffic did slow down significantly from NC-147 to just past Fayetteville Road but freed up shortly after.
