Deputies search for 2 after Durham jump-and-run chase

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Durham County deputies were involved in a high-speed chase that turned into a manhunt Tuesday night.

An ABC11 crew at the scene said deputies chased a Lincoln Town Car on Interstate 40 then to Cornwallis Road where the car suddenly stopped and two men jumped out and ran.

They have not been caught.

Then, the car took off again, and came to a stop with a flat tire about a mile away on Hope Valley Road.

Deputies eventually captured the driver and another passenger who tried to make a break for it.

It wasn't immediately known why deputies were originally chasing the car.
