Man cut out of car after Johnston County crash

GARNER, North Carolina (WTVD) -- A driver had to be cut out of his vehicle after a serious crash Monday night in Johnston County.

It happened on Highway 42 near Garner about 8 p.m., when a car left the road and struck a tree.

Cleveland firefighters had to cut the car apart to get the driver out.

The driver was rushed to WakeMed. His condition was not immediately known.

The driver had to be cut out of his vehicle.

The Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
