RALEIGH (WTVD) -- If you're planning on travelling on the Raleigh Beltline and Poole Road this weekend be prepared for some changes in the I-40/440 construction zone once again.

The DOT will close the Poole Road ramp to westbound I-440. The outside westbound lane of Poole Road will also be closed through the weekend.

The closure begins at 6 p.m. Friday and ends at 6 a.m. Monday, weather permitting. The work was supposed to take place last weekend but was postponed by rain.

There will be separate detours for east and westbound. Heading east on Poole Road (away from downtown Raleigh), motorists will be directed to turn left on New Hope Road and then west on U.S. Highway 64/264 to get back to I-440. Westbound Poole Road drivers (heading toward downtown), will be sent right on Sunnybrook Road and right on New Bern Avenue to the I-440 interchange.

The DOT says the I-440 section of the project is still on schedule to be completed late this year. Then, attention will shift to the larger I-40 section of the project, between the I-440/U.S. 1/64 interchange in Cary and the I-440 split in southwest Raleigh.
