Multiple crashes on I-95 slow traffic in Johnston Co.

JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Traffic was moving slowly Sunday evening on I-95 near Smithfield because of several crashes.

Our crew on the scene said there were three wrecks in a one-mile stretch. At least seven vehicles were involved, including a motorcycle.

Troopers have not yet released specific information on the accidents. At least one person was rushed to WakeMed and two others were taken to Johnston Health, according to our crew on the scene.
