BENSON (WTVD) -- The North Carolina Highway Patrol tells ABC11 that one person was killed in an accident involving two tractor trailers on Interstate 95 Wednesday morning in Johnston County.

It happened about 9:45 a.m. in Benson in the northbound lanes at exit 81 for Interstate 40.

Officials said a man driving a 2005 Freightliner tractor-trailer towing a flatbed trailer ran into the back of a 2015 Peterbilt tractor-trailer carrying butane gas. The driver of the Freighliner died in the accident, and a woman in the passenger seat of the truck was taken to the hospital in unknown condition. The driver of the other 18-wheeler was not injured.

The driver who was killed has been identified as Samuel Oryan Clark, 39, of Albany, Ga. He died at the scene.

The woman has not been identified. She was taken to Wake Medical Center with serious injuries.

The driver of the 18-wheeler has been identified as Matthew Drew Hunter, 24, of Youngsville.

The box truck reportedly clipped the semi-truck and rolled.

"The vehicle, which was the tractor trailer struck in the rear, did have butane inside of it," said Lt. Jeff Gordon with the NC Highway Patrol. "It is contained. It is not leaking. We are unloading that material. The interstate will be shut down for 1 to 1 and a half hours."

No charges are expected from this collision.

I-95 was shut down near the scene for several hours while authorities cleared the wreck, but has since reopened.
