CARY, N.C. (WTVD) -- A passenger vehicle led police on a slow-speed chase from Interstate 40 to Cary Towne Boulevard in Cary late Thursday night.

The Apex Police Department said the incident began 10:20 p.m. when officers got a report of a woman threatening to commit suicide in the 14-hundred block of East Williams Street.

When police tried to speak with her, the woman drove off. They followed her on U.S. Highway 1 towards Cary. The woman obeyed all traffic signals and did not go over the posted speed limit. The vehicle was eventually stopped with the assistance of other law enforcement agencies near Cary Towne Blvd.

The woman was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, driving while impaired, fleeing/eluding law enforcement, no operator's license and outstanding warrants from the Raleigh Police Department.
