Wade Avenue reopens after utility lines repaired

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- UPDATE: Wade Avenue has reopened, Raleigh Police said about 6:45 p.m. Duke Energy reported that power was restored to the immediate area affected.

A single-vehicle wreck on Wade Avenue near Faircloth Street earlier Friday afternoon resulted in the closure of Wade Avenue in both directions because of downed utility lines.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area, if possible.

Crews are at work to repair the damage. However, the closure is expected last through the afternoon commute.

The wreck did not result in any serious injuries.
