CARY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Cary repair crews stayed busy Sunday clearing the mess left behind by a broken water main, near the intersection of Cary Parkway and Westhigh Street.
The all day job meant changes for people who usually drive through the area.
The break happened around 7:30 a.m. Sunday, and the lack of water during the repair led to changes at Westwood Baptist Church.
"We had to actually make the announcement this morning that there'd be no child care for our morning service," said church member Dick Suggs.
That was not the only adjustment forced by the morning water main break, the church also had to cancel big plans for the evening.
"We had to call off the Fall Festival, because you couldn't have two to three hundred people here and nowhere for them to go to the bathroom," Suggs said.
Wear and tear is believed to be the reason for the break. The road reopened around 5 p.m.
