Woman killed in crash with dump truck near Garner

GARNER (WTVD) -- A woman was killed late Wednesday evening near Garner when her car collided with a dump truck that was making a U-turn, state troopers said.

It happened on Highway 401 South near Old Stage Road in Wake County.

The woman's white sedan was heavily damaged after hitting the back of the dump truck.

Troopers identified her as 33-year-old Suzanne Nickol Baker of Raleigh.

The driver of the dump truck, 37-year-old Calvin Louis Woods Jr., of Cary, was charged with misdemeanor death and unsafe movement, according to state troopers.

The highway has since reopened.
