VIDEO: Mother giraffe defends her young against lions

If you don't associate protective mothers with giraffes, you will after you see this video.

The sight of a mother giraffe stomping her feet to ward off six lions trying to snatch her days-old baby was something even these veteran safari-goers had never seen. Bill and Barbara Westbrook were in Kenya when they witnessed this go on for half an hour before the giraffes were able to get away. Of all of their trips, they called this the most incredible encounter they've witnessed.

Those lions probably won't be messing with this mama giraffe anytime soon.
