Truck hits Durham bridge

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Durham's notorious South Gregson Street railroad bridge claimed another victim Thursday.

A moving truck slammed into the structure known as the 11 Foot 8 Bridge just before 10 a.m.

The impact ripped open the truck and left the driver injured.

Despite numerous signs warning drivers how low the bridge is, tall vehicles routinely hit it.

It's happened so many times that there's a website dedicated to showing the crashes.
