Wake Forest firefighters begin Fill the Boot campaign

WAKE FOREST, NC (WTVD) -- For more than 60 years firefighters across the country have worked to help defeat Muscular Dystrophy. This time of year you will see firefighters out in the communities as part of their Fill the Boot campaign.

This year Wake Forest firefighters will be out filling their boots at the Wake Pointe Plaza on Capital Boulevard on August 26 as well as September 9 and 23 from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Funds raised through 2017 Wake Forest Fill the Boot events help MDA's efforts to fund groundbreaking research and life-enhancing programs such as state-of-the-art support groups and Care Centers, including the MDA Care Center at UNC-Chapel Hill and Duke.
