The cool front is giving us wet weather this Tuesday, so it's a good idea to keep an umbrella handy all day long.

ABC11 Meteorologist Don "Big Weather" Schwenneker says even though the steadiest and heaviest of the rain will come during the morning hours, into early this afternoon, you may even need the rain gear headed back home after work as spotty lingers through 7 p.m.

"Temperatures this morning are hovering near 60," he said. "We rise into the 60s later before a cool front trims those temperatures this evening. The more noticeable cooling will come after dark as clouds break up. Readings will fall into the middle 40s later tonight."

Schwenneker says high pressure to the north forces this front far enough to the south to promote dry weather Wednesday and on Thursday.

Expect sunshine, mixed with clouds each day, with high temperatures in the the middle 60s. The high pressure holds deeper moisture at bay to the south and west on Friday giving us dry weather and intervals of sunshine across the Triangle with high temperatures still in the 60s.

A glance into the weekend shows that high pressure holding. It will promote dry weather, and more sun than clouds, with afternoon temperatures rising into the 70s by Sunday.
