Chance of severe weather again today
A cold front moving through North Carolina Friday will likely bring more thunderstorms and a slight chance of severe weather

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- The entire ABC11 viewing area was under a slight risk of severe weather Friday as a cold front moved across North Carolina.

ABC11 Chief Meteorologist Chris Hohmann said the threat of severe weather has all but passed, and we will likely only see scattered showers across the viewing area overnight.

The approaching front was expected to arrive from the west around 5 p.m. and probably wouldn't make it all the way across the Triangle until about 10 p.m.

There was a low threat for a tornado, but there was a high threat of large hail and a moderate threat of damaging winds.

Saturday will be dry and cooler with intervals of clouds and sunshine. Temperatures will be in the middle 70s, and then Sunday will be dry and seasonable with mostly sunny skies and highs in the lower 70s.

High pressure off the East Coast will provide a partly sunny sky both Monday and Tuesday with warm afternoons. Moisture returns from the west by the middle of next week.
