Counting cricket chirps can help estimate temperature
Did you know that the sound of a cricket chirping can help you estimate the temperature? Here's how it works.

To some, a cricket's chirp can be annoying. But the sound they make is actually useful in gauging the temperature outside.

The next time you hear the sound of crickets chirping, Accuweather says to count how many times a cricket chirps in 15 seconds and add 37. This number will be very close to what the outside temperature is in Fahrenheit.
