The bikers couldn't stay upright

Organizers of the Cape Town Cycle Tour were forced to cancel the event Sunday when many bikers were completely blown over by high winds.

The race bills itself as the world's largest timed cycling race with more than 35,000 riders scheduled to take part.

But with winds gusting up to 60 miles per hour, cyclists were seen falling over and even carrying their bikes because they couldn't ride them.

The 67 mile race was stopped after about 13 miles because of the impossible conditions.
