A Fayetteville couple is upset that Hurricane Irma cut their Florida vacation short.

Miami flights scheduled to arrive at Raleigh-Durham International Airport have been cancelled and many Florida airports are shutting down early. And it's all thank to Hurricane Irma.

ABC 11 spoke to a Fayetteville man who was on one of the last flights out of Tampa.

"My time (there) was not enough," Greg Youngosi said about his trip.

Youngosi said he is not happy that his week-long vacation in Tampa had to end early because Irma is expected to make a grand entrance in south Florida this weekend.

The Tampa Bay area, where Youngosi and his wife were vacationing, is expected to feel the storm's power on Sunday.

"The hotel management and state government wanted us out," Youngosi said.

Tampa International Airport is scheduled to shut down operations at 8 p.m. on Saturday.

"I had my mind prepared that they were cancelling the flights," Youngosi said. "But we got to the airport and everything was fine."

To Youngosi's surprise, Delta Airlines even cut them deal with his checked luggage.

"(Delta) said all luggage is free. You can pack as much as you want, it's free."

Some of the final flights out are taking off from the lower half of the sunshine state.

On Saturday, airports looked empty.

A stark contrast from Friday's long lines at ticket counters from people trying to escape.

Some of the airports in south Florida are not expected to reopen.
