A Warmer Weekend

High pressure will bring plenty of sunshine today, which will help boost the temperatures into the lower 50s this afternoon.

A weak surface storm will form over southeastern Colorado today before it starts to drift northeastward. This low will be supported by a weakening upper-level disturbance coming out of Mexico and into Texas. The surface feature will get kicked northeastward by a much stronger upper-level disturbance which will reach the West Coast today before diving southeastward into the southern Rockies Sunday. The weather system moving east from Colorado will weaken, then dissipate as it reaches the Appalachians on Sunday night. So there is no true support for precipitation throughout Central North Carolina Sunday night or Monday. But the second, stronger upper-level disturbance will be moving eastward, bringing a chance for some rain in the Carolinas later on Tuesday night as a weak cold front passes through the region.

Have a great weekend!
