Severe thunderstorm watch cancelled for most of ABC11 viewing area
RALEIGH (WTVD) -- The National Weather Service has cancelled a severe thunderstorm watch for most of the ABC11 viewing area Thursday as a cold front moves through, bringing heavy showers and strong storms with gusty winds.

The front will continue to push east tonight, but we could still see a few storms linger overnight. Mostly cloudy skies will allow temperatures to drop to the lower 70's.
Scattered showers and storms will also linger into Friday, but we should start to dry out over the weekend as the front washes out. There could still be an isolated shower or storm over the weekend, but the weather should cooperate for most outdoor plans. Temperatures will begin to rise again this weekend, into the lower 90's.
