RALEIGH (WTVD) -- After summer-like warmth yesterday, the passage of a cold front across Central North Carolina overnight has ushered in a cooler air mass for today, but it's still going to be very nice for Halloween trick-or-treaters.

After being in the 80s on Sunday, readings today will not get much above 70 and there will be clouds in the sky at times. Despite the clouds, it will be a pleasant day today with no rain.

Tonight will be cooler with patchy clouds and low temperatures mostly in the 40s.

If you are taking the kids trick or treating, maybe take a light jacket.

The partly sunny weather will continue tomorrow, and it will still be comfortable with afternoon temperatures mostly in the upper 60s.

Summer warmth will return to our region on Wednesday and Thursday.

There will be enough sunshine to push temperatures well up in the 70s to near 80 on Wednesday, and then into the 80s on Thursday, when record highs may be threatened.

Another cold front will pass on Thursday night with just the chance of a shower or thunderstorm as it goes by.

Then cooler, and pleasant, weather will follow for Friday and the weekend moves in with lots of sunshine.

Have a safe and Happy Halloween!
