There will be scattered thunderstorms throughout today, but most places and much of the time will be rain-free.
The biggest threat comes from high wind or hail. An isolated Tornado could spin up around the Virginia border, especially off toward the Chesapeake area.
By nightfall, any storms will die down and it stays muggy with overnight lows in the 70s.
Another hot day is in store for Friday; however, an approaching cold front will spread more clouds into the area along with a round of strong thunderstorms in the afternoon.
Both days this weekend will be cooler. However, the front will be slow to move. It will be unsettled Saturday with more clouds along with a couple of showers and a thunderstorm before drier and less humid air moves into the area for Sunday. Temperatures both days will be in the 80s, instead of the 90s.
