A very summer-like pattern will be with us across Central North Carolina this week, complete with numerous rain chances, high humidity and building heat.

Thunderstorms are possible just about every day this week, with the best chances, as usual, during the afternoon and evening hours. Scattered storms will be throughout central North Carolina Monday evening.

Storms were moving through the Sandhills and south of Raleigh Monday afternoon.

Locally heavy rainfall will be possible in the strongest storms, though widespread severe weather is not expected to be an issue. We are under a marginal risk for part of the area today, with the biggest threat from high winds.

While a thunderstorm is included in the forecast for each and every day, the majority of the time will be free of rain.

Daily high temperatures will be close to 90 during the first half of the week, and then in the 90s from Thursday onward. Combined with the humidity, it will feel like it is near 100, especially the second half of this week.

The hot, humid weather will continue this weekend and into next week as well. It is July...
