Strong storms pound much of the ABC11 viewing area
A slow-moving cold front brought central North Carolina another round of showers and thunderstorms Tuesday night.
Like Monday, some of the thunderstorms produced hail and strong winds - most of the stronger thunderstorms were east of I-95.
Hail was reported in Pittsboro, Apex and other areas.
Storms early Tuesday morning caused a large tree to fall on Gardner Street at Clark Avenue in Raleigh.
It took down power lines, leaving over 200 residents in the Cameron Village area in the dark.
ABC11 Chief Meteorologist Chris Hohmann says cooler air in the wake of the front will reach central North Carolina Wednesday. This will keep temperatures mainly in the 70s. The front will help bring a shower or thunderstorm to eastern North Carolina mainly well east of the I-95 corridor. However, we can't totally rule out a late afternoon shower.
Another frontal boundary will move through the region on Thursday with more clouds and showers.

The leading edge of this front might trigger a thunderstorm late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning. The combination of the showers and clouds will prevent temperatures from rising much higher than the low to mid-60s during the day Thursday.
This cool, unsettled weather will last through Friday with fewer showers, but still plenty of clouds.
