On May 9, members aboard the Coast Guard's Cutter Stratton from Alameda, Calif. were responding to a call about a suspicious object floating in an undisclosed location off the coast of Central America, a well-known drug transit zone. But when the coast guard approached the object, they discovered it to be a group of sea turtles entangled in a fishing line and makeshift buoys.

The Coast Guard members then took the turtles aboard their ship and were able to free them, releasing the creatures back into the ocean shortly after.
