Kinston man charged with abusing 3-year-old girl
KINSTON, N.C. (WTVD) -- A 35-year-old man from Kinston was arrested and charged with multiple counts of child abuse involving a 3-year-old girl, police say.
On May 17, officers were called to the Lenoir Memorial Hospital for a possible child abuse investigation. A mother had taken her 3-year-old daughter to be treated for extensive injuries, according to police. The girl was later taken to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
Officers arrested Jackie Quoc Chung, a friend of the mother, on May 20 in Washington, N.C. He was taken to the Lenoir County Jail under a $1.6 million bond.
He was charged with 3 counts of felony child abuse/serious bodily injury, 3 counts of felony assault with bodily injury, and 3 counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious bodily injury.
