JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- A 14-year-old crashed his mom's car into a utility pole early Saturday morning.

Troopers say it happened around 1:30 a.m. on Josephine Road near Cornwallis Road.

The impact knocked over the pole.

The teen suffered minor injuries but was taken to the hospital in Clayton.

Troopers say alcohol was not a factor, but the State Highway Patrol will seek charges because of the driver's age.

Josephine Road is blocked while Duke Progress replaces the pole.
