FPD reports receiving more than 60 threats Friday

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- The Fayetteville Police Department said it has received more than 60 reports of possible threats against law enforcement in a span of six hours Friday afternoon.

"While none of these reports have been credible, it is concerning on a day that law enforcement across our nation mourns the loss of officers from the Dallas Police Department," FPD said in a news release.

Fayetteville police said the community has shown them overwhelming support Friday, through flowers, signs, food being dropped off, and telephone calls expressing care and concern.

"This is a testament of the great community we serve and the relationships that have been forged with the men and women of our department," the release stated.
