Man charged in Fayetteville fatal shooting

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Police have charged a man with murder in a fatal shooting in Fayetteville Sunday.

It happened around 5:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of Rim Road.

Investigators identified the victim as 47-year-old Ronald Potts of Selma.

Detectives have now arrested 21-year-old Russell McCants-McGill of Fayetteville in the case. He's charged with first-degree murder, shooting into occupied dwelling, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, and possession of firearm by a felon. He also had multiple outstanding felony probation violation warrants.
