Suspect carrying cash register shot at by clerk in Durham

DURHAM (WTVD) -- A convenience store robbery ended with a shooting Monday night -- but it wasn't the suspect who fired.

Our crew on the scene says the robber took the cash register from a Family Food Mart on Alston Avenue at Morning Glory Avenue. The clerk then fired shots as he ran off.

Police are not sure if the suspect was hit. Authorities are investigating.
