Fayetteville police investigate bank robbery

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Fayetteville police are investigating a bank robbery Thursday.

It happened about 4:30 p.m. at the First Citizens Bank at 126 Broadfoot Avenue.

Investigators said a man entered the bank and passed a note to the teller demanding money. He received an undisclosed amount of money from the teller and then fled on foot.

The suspect is described as a black man with a beard, dressed in a green coat, a black shirt, and blue jeans.

Detectives have obtained images from the bank's surveillance system and are requesting the public's assistance in identifying the suspect.
