Man shot outside Fayetteville pool hall, later arrested

FAYETTEVILLE, North Carolina (WTVD) -- A man shot in the parking lot of a pool hall Saturday was later arrested on outstanding warrants.

Early Saturday, about 3:20 a.m., Fayetteville police officers responded to a report of a shooting victim at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

The gunshot victim, Robert Dockery, 22, of Old Maxton Road in Red Springs, had been shot twice in the leg in the parking lot of The Pool Palace at 3118 Bragg Blvd.

He described the shooting suspect as a black man with a skinny build, wearing a black toboggan, and possibly driving a tan 4-door Honda sedan with possible tinted windows. The suspect may have had multiple occupants in the car when he sped off.

Dockery was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in a personal vehicle where he was treated for his injuries. After his release, Dockery was arrested for the unrelated charges of misdemeanor parole violation and violation of a domestic violence protection order.

Detectives with the FPD's Aggravated Assault Unit are actively investigating the shooting and are asking that any witnesses to the shooting to come forward with information.
