WAKE FOREST, North Carolina (WTVD) -- A fawn was rescued north of the eastern end of Falls Lake Friday evening.

The baby deer was found along Stony Hill Road and appeared to be only a couple of weeks old.

It's unknown if something happened to its mother, or if they just got separated, but it was very weak.

Rescuers are taking it to a rehabilitation center in Warren County.
