Sheriff: 2 arrests made in Hoke County shooting

HOKE COUNTY, North Carolina -- Hoke County Sheriffs Department have arrested two men accused in a shooting that happened back in May.

Devour Hodges Jr. and Davonte McDuffie have both been charged with first-degree murder and felony conspiracy.

Deputies say in May they responded to a shooting at the intersection of Heron Drive and Mockingbird Hill Drive. There, they found Chavez Christian Lockhart seated in the driver's seat of his car with a gunshot wound to his upper body.

Lockhart is the half-brother of Shaniya Davis, who was killed in Cumberland County in 2009.

Mario McNeill was convicted and sentenced to death for killing the 5-year-old.

Lockhart was taken to Cape Fear Valley Hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.

Hodges Jr. and McDuffie are being held at the Hoke County Detention Center without bond.
