North Carolina State Highway Patrol investigate crash between deputy and police officer

PERSON COUNTY (WTVD) -- The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash between a Person County Deputy and a Roxboro Police officer.

It happened Sunday about 10:44 p.m. on Allensville Road.

Officers said that Roxboro police were in the middle of a traffic stop when a man failed to stop and attempted to flee.

Officer T. Wright from the Roxboro Police Department went after the man but lost him in the process.

Wright slowed down to turn into a street when Deputy T. Hunt hit him.

Officer Wright was taken to Person Memorial for minor injuries and Deputy Hunt was also treated for minor injuries at Duke Hospital.

The crash is still under investigation.
