CARY, North Carolina (WTVD) -- Some sexy Wake County firefighters are featured in a new calendar with the proceeds going to benefit the Polka Dot Mama Melanoma Foundation.

The 2017-2018 SpotMe! Calendar launch is set for Friday evening. The event also features a microbrew from a local brewery and free skin cancer screenings.

Proceeds from the sale of Fortnight's "Made in the Shade" summer ale will also benefit the foundation which will be unveiling its newly renovated mobile skin cancer examination bus called the "Shade Shuttle."

And while not all of our local heroes are posing without shirts, some of them are.

The foundation chose to highlight firefighters after local fire captain Shevais Shrum of Western Wake Fire and Rescue was inspired to get his mole checked out after seeing the Polka Dot Mama campaign. His skin cancer was spotted in time to save his life.

"To date, we have screened 200 patients and detected skin cancer in 15-20% of people," foundation founder and CEO, Tracy Callahan, said. "With our newly renovated bus, we hope to travel across the Triangle and North Carolina to screen patients and hopefully save lives."

If you can't make it out to the event to snag a calendar, don't worry. You can buy them online through the link in the tweet below.

The event is happening from 5-9pm at Fortnight Brewing Company in Cary. Free skin cancer screening are available from 5:30-7pm.

Fort Knight Brewing Company is located at 1006 SW Maynard Road Cary, NC 27511.
