Investigation underway after woman found dead in Siler City

SILER CITY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Siler City police say an investigation is underway after a woman was found dead at a residence Saturday morning.

Around 4:30 a.m., officers received a call about an unresponsive female in the 300 block of West 11th Street.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered a deceased woman.

A person of interest has been identified but the names of the suspect and victim are not being released at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
