VOLCANO EXPLODES

Mexico's Popocatepetl volcano erupted with a dramatic series of explosions Wednesday.

A nearly two-mile-high column of ash, steam, and gas spewed into the sky.

People within seven miles of the volcano have been encouraged to evacuate. Officials are calling the eruptions an intermediate level event.

The active volcano is located just over 40 miles from Mexico City.

NC DOLPHIN DIP

Some brave souls celebrated New Year's Day at Surf City on the North Carolina coast by taking a dip in the frigid Atlantic Ocean.

Thankfully, the water wasn't too frigid for the annual Dolphin Dip, but most didn't spend too much time in the water.

Officials estimated more than 4,000 people took part. All proceeds from the event went to Ocean Cure - a non-profit organization that gives free surf lessons to children with special needs.

BABY GETS THE GIGGLES

Grandma gave a 6-month-old boy a glow worm for Christmas and every time his mom holds it up, he can't stop laughing.

Eventually, he rolls over, but the giggles keep on coming.

TURKEY TERROR

A little boy seemed to be really frightened when the Christmas turkey appeared to be on the attack.

He screamed and tucked himself up in his blanket.

We bet he got the last laugh when it was dinner time.
