Man attempts to rob Durham bank

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Durham police are investigating an attempted bank robbery that happened Monday afternoon.

Officers responded to the PNC Bank in the 500-block of West Morgan Street just after 3 p.m.

They said a man entered the bank and handed a teller a note which implied he has an explosive device. However, no device was seen.

The man left the bank without getting any money.

A possible suspect was caught by officers a short distance away and was questioned by investigators.
