Dozens attend vigil for Nepal victims
A candlelight vigil was held in Cary for the victims of Nepal's devastating earthquake

CARY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Dozens of people packed Bond Park in Cary on Sunday to remember the victims of the earthquake in Nepal.

The death toll has soared past 2,000 and is still climbing, according to officials.

The vigil started at 6 p.m. The Triangle is home to a large Nepalese community, with close to 5,000 living and working in the area.

Many of them are praying for the safety of friends and loved ones overseas.
