Gas leak closes Ramsey Street in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, NC (WTVD) -- Ramsey Street in Fayetteville was closed between Country Club Dr. and McArthur Rd. for about an hour Tuesday due to a gas leak.

Police detoured motorists around the area and businesses nearby were evacuated.

Pictures from the scene showed a construction crew had been using horizontal drilling equipment to install new red light cameras when they apparently hit a gas line.

The leak was capped and the road reopened around 11 a.m.
