Fayetteville's newest swimming pool to open Saturday

FAYETTEVILLE, NC (WTVD) -- Bring your towel! Fayetteville's newest swimming pool is set to open Saturday.

The $1.8 million pool at Westover Recreation Center is on Bonanza Drive. It includes an eight-lane pool, a shallower pool for toddlers, and a water slide.

"The water slide will be the biggest draw," said Fayetteville Assistant City Manager Kristoff Baurer.

The new pool is next to Westover middle and high schools.

It is the city's second swimming pool. The Chalmers Pool at Seabrook Park off Langdon Street opened for the season in May.

Both pool sites will remain open through at least Labor Day.

The city plans to build a third pool on Rosehill Road.
